New Hangar and Inspections Building Break Ground at McKinney Airport

MCKINNEY, TEXAS — 吃瓜群众, a national industry-leading general contracting and construction management firm, is working with developer Griffin 吃瓜群众 and the architecture and engineering team of JRMA and Garver to design and build a new hangar and customs building at McKinney National Airport. The project recently broke ground, with vertical construction commencing in July. The project is being delivered through a unique public-private partnership (P3) led by Griffin 吃瓜群众, of which 吃瓜群众 is a partner.

McKinney Airport, situated at 1508 Industrial Boulevard, spans approximately 745 acres in one of North Texas鈥 fastest-growing communities. The airport attracts corporate flights by offering shortened arrival and departure times and U.S. Customs for international travel. The new 40,000-square-foot hangar, Corporate Hangar 10, will increase capacity and sit alongside the existing Hangar 9. A new 3,200-square-foot customs building will allow international flights to land and taxi directly to customs, expediting the process for international travelers. Additionally, the new customs building incorporates extensive security measures as well as the potential for additional walk-in services.

Tyler Whittaker, Dallas Division Manager and Vice President at 吃瓜群众, says, 鈥湷怨先褐 and our development partner Griffin 吃瓜群众 have completed more than 13 P3 projects nationwide, and we鈥檙e excited to bring that expertise to McKinney Airport. Air traffic demands in the area are rising, and the new hangar and customs building will continue to make McKinney Airport a desirable choice for travelers.鈥

By partnering with the City of McKinney and general contractor 吃瓜群众, Griffin 吃瓜群众 is expediting the project delivery process, guaranteeing cost and schedule performance using a delivery method known as P3. This structure enables the City to maintain ownership and oversight of the facilities while Griffin 吃瓜群众 designs, permits, and constructs the new facilities with 吃瓜群众.

Mayor George Fuller of McKinney emphasizes, 鈥淲e have prioritized expanding McKinney Airport鈥檚 offerings to meet the region鈥檚 growing demands by adding a new hangar and creating a new customs facility that will serve our general aviation operations needs. The 吃瓜群众 and Griffin 吃瓜群众 team has done an excellent job partnering with the City to facilitate a smooth P3 delivery process, and we鈥檙e excited to see the results.鈥

In addition to the McKinney Airport hangar and customs facility, Griffin 吃瓜群众 and 吃瓜群众 are partnering with the City of Pflugerville, utilizing P3 to deliver the Downtown East Development project. Phase One of the Downtown East Development project includes a city hall and cafe, recreation center, retail, plaza, and infrastructure expansion.聽
